Renewity partners with Energex Partners

RELATED TOPICS

Renewity, a multi-manager platform devoted to investing in renewable energy, has formed a strategic partnership with energy specialists, Energex Partners.

With proven, practical operational experience across the value chain in the energy sector, Energex Partners will become Renewity’s trusted commercial adviser with regards to direct investments, co-investments and secondary transactions.

Energex has experience working with many of the largest investors in renewable energy assets, offering continuous advice and transaction support to large institutional investors, sponsors and funds.

As part of the new partnership, Energex will support the Renewity investment team in resolving critical commercial issues, contributing to Renewity’s already vibrant deal origination network and operating as a preferred “one stop shop” for due diligence on these investments.

David Hunter, Renewity CIO, says: “As the world transitions its dominant energy mix from fossil fuels to renewables, we were seeking a special projects partner with significant sector-wide expertise across numerous energy market cycles, technology changes and asset and sponsor types. The broader Energex team brings depth and breadth of technical and commercial experience with decades of industry exposure from careers in the energy sector. Grounded in a practical approach, Energex’s sector specialism was a distinctive feature in our decision and complements Renewity’s own sole-focus philosophy. We look forward to working with the Energex team to bring value-enhancing deals, strategies and solutions to clients and fund portfolios.”

Michael Brennan, Energex Partners’ Managing Partner, says: “At Energex Partners we recognise the tremendous paradigm shifts taking place across the entire energy spectrum and we strive to play our part in addressing the climate challenge and the transition to a greener and cleaner future. This energy transition, coupled with technological innovation, will lead to new opportunities for investors, particularly in zero- and low-carbon investments. As such, we are excited to be partnering with the team at Renewity as they seek to serve their clients in deploying significant investment capital into the burgeoning renewable energy sector. We believe that the unique offering, sole-focused strategy and depth of expertise assembled by the founders of Renewity will deliver strong long-term returns whilst providing much needed capital to accelerate the energy transition.”

Renewity launched in March 2021 to rapidly scale renewable energy investing for institutional investors. Through its specialist multi-manager platform, advisory services and holistic approach, Renewity aims to distribute and deploy assets at scale and speed to accelerate the closing of the renewable energy funding gap.
