The Nasdaq OMX Group saw 76 new listings in the third quarter of 2014, including 41 initial public offerings (IPOs), on The Nasdaq Stock Market, bringing its total IPO count to 140 for 2014.

This represents more IPOs than any other US exchange and an eight per cent increase in listings compared to the same quarter last year.

The combined proceeds raised by Nasdaq's IPOs year-to-date is approximately USD16.7 billion.

"This continues to be a record year for Nasdaq listings," says Nelson Griggs, senior vice president of listings at Nasdaq OMX. "We've reached several important milestones so far, including surpassing both the 100 IPO mark and our 2013 IPO total of 126 IPOs. Our ability to attract a diverse range of growth sectors was evident as we welcomed 41 IPOs, which is a testament to the resiliency and success of our capital markets."
